Ed is one of the UK's most experienced television entrepreneurs and advisers, and he has been working in broadcasting since 1991 when he produced award-winning news programmes and documentaries for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. He has advised or managed projects for most broadcasters in the UK and many others around the world. He has an unusual breadth of expertise that encompasses managing both creative and technical projects including multiple channel launches in the UK, Europe and further afield, and the design and launch of a national DTT terrestrial multiplex for the UK, and he regularly acts as an expert witness in broadcast legal disputes.
In 2017 and 2018 Ed worked as interim CEO of a major Greek broadcaster during a period of major innovation and change. He has designed and launched 'red button' and OTT interactive television services. He developed the UK market in the sale and purchase of EPG positions on the Sky digital satellite and Virgin cable platforms, and has managed more than 180 EPG transactions.
In 2013, as founder and interim CEO of Comux UK, Ed built the UK's £25M DTT local news television network infrastructure after the company he formed won the licence against competition from the BBC and others. He is a creative, expert and energetic management addition to any broadcast project.
Fergus has a successful track record in supplying services on a consultancy or special advisory basis to a number of companies in the broadcast, media and media-tech space. Fergus started his media career in airtime sales at ITV, and afterwards gained experience in both the production and the commercial side of television when, with funding from BT, he co-founded and launched a production company specialising in producing live participation entertainment formats.
The company supplied programming to ITV, and also launched its own TV channel on Sky and Virgin in the UK.
Having worked with bigger corporate organisations, either directly or via his own consultancy business, Fergus then broadened his range of experience and skills at one of the UK's leading broadcast services companies.
Fergus has deep experience in areas including business start-up, business turnaround, business development, sales and marketing, business planning and commercial modelling, fund raising, building management teams, identifying and delivering strategic partnerships and project management.
Fergus is one of the most commercially effective operators in the media space, and provides strategic advice and hands on expertise to assist new and established media companies.
