Richard Young has a proven track record in the launch and distribution of TV channels, digital entertainment propositions, OTT services and new platforms. Most recently, Richard worked on a major DTT business strategy and due diligence project with EMP, and he has been working with Magine TV a cloud based OTT TV service with B2C services in Germany, Sweden and the UK. Richard has been involved in a number of areas of the business including negotiating content licensing agreements, strategy and proposition development and business development across all its territories.
Formerly Commercial Director at BT Consumer, he oversaw teams responsible for content licensing for BT TV, Sports rights acquisition for BT Sport, advertising partnerships, and business development. Richard joined BT prior to the launch of BT's move into television and played key roles in the development of BT Vision, formation of Youview, Launch of BT Sport and partnership deals such as Netflix and AMC, he has a varied and extensive understanding of the media landscape and the opportunities within it.
Previous to his almost 9 years at BT, Richard also spent 4 years at Channel 4 where he handled the assessment, development and negotiation of a range of business and investment opportunities in channels, new media and rights investments. He started his career as a strategy consultant at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting where he was involved in a range of strategic and due diligence projects.
